Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Oberman & Partners (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects information in connection with the website located at copyhunter.co (the “Site”). It applies to visitors worldwide. By accessing or using the Site, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Policy.

Certain technologies described below, including analytics and advertising technologies, may not be active on the Site at all times. This Policy describes both our current practices and the categories of technologies we may use, so that you are informed in advance of any such use.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide. The Site does not currently offer registration, subscription, or contact forms. If you contact us by email, we receive your email address and the contents of your message.

Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site, certain information is collected automatically by us or our service providers, which may include your Internet Protocol (IP) address, device and browser type, operating system, referring and exit pages, pages viewed, links clicked, approximate location derived from IP address, and the dates and times of access.

Information from cookies and similar technologies. Where such technologies are in use, information may be collected about your interactions with the Site as described in Section 2.

2. Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small text files placed on your device. Similar technologies include pixels, tags, web beacons, software development kits, and local storage. Where used, these technologies fall into the following categories:

• Strictly necessary. Required for the Site to function and to be delivered securely.
• Performance and analytics. Used to understand how visitors find and use the Site, which pages are viewed, and how the Site performs.
• Advertising and targeting. Used to measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns, to attribute conversions, and to deliver advertising that may be more relevant to you on this or other websites.

You may control cookies through your browser settings, including by refusing or deleting them. Blocking certain cookies may affect the functionality of the Site. Where required by applicable law, non-essential cookies will be set only with your consent, and you may withdraw that consent at any time.

3. Analytics and advertising

We may use third-party analytics and advertising services, including but not limited to Google Analytics, Google Ads, and advertising or conversion-tracking technologies provided by social media platforms. Where used, these services may collect information about your use of the Site and may combine it with information collected across other websites and services in order to measure campaign performance, attribute conversions, and deliver remarketing or interest-based advertising.

These providers act as independent controllers or processors in respect of the data they collect, and their practices are governed by their own privacy policies. You may opt out of Google Analytics through the browser add-on made available by Google, and you may manage interest-based advertising preferences through the tools offered by the relevant advertising platform or through industry opt-out programs.

4. Third-party services and links

The Site loads typefaces from Google Fonts. When your browser requests these resources, Google may receive your IP address and related request data.

Purchases of The Copy Hunter’s Field Guide are not processed on the Site. Purchase links direct you to Stan, a third-party platform that operates the checkout, processes payment, and delivers the product. Information you provide to Stan is collected and controlled by Stan and is governed by the Stan Privacy Policy. We do not receive or store payment card details.

The Site may contain links to other third-party websites. We are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of those websites.

5. How we use information

We use information for the following purposes: to operate, maintain, and secure the Site; to understand how the Site is used and to improve it; to measure and improve the performance of marketing and advertising; to respond to inquiries you send us; to detect, prevent, and address technical issues, fraud, or misuse; and to comply with legal obligations.

6. Legal bases for processing

If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we process personal data on the following legal bases: your consent, where consent is required, such as for non-essential cookies and marketing; our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving the Site and in understanding the effectiveness of our marketing, where those interests are not overridden by your rights; and compliance with legal obligations.

7. Disclosure of information

We do not sell personal information for money. We may disclose information: to service providers who perform functions on our behalf, such as hosting, analytics, and advertising measurement, and who are bound to use it only for those purposes; where required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request; to enforce our terms or protect the rights, property, or safety of Oberman & Partners, our users, or others; and in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, in which case information may be transferred as a business asset.

Where advertising or analytics cookies are in use, certain disclosures to advertising partners may be treated as a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information under certain state privacy laws. See Section 11.

8. International transfers

We and our service providers are located in the United States, and information collected through the Site may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States or other countries whose data protection laws may differ from those of your country. Where we transfer personal data out of the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, or on another lawful transfer mechanism.

9. Data retention

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, or for as long as required by applicable law. Server log data and analytics data are retained in accordance with the standard retention periods of the relevant service provider. Email correspondence is retained only as long as reasonably necessary to address the matter concerned.

10. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information under our control. No method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Your privacy rights

All visitors. You may contact us at any time to ask what information we hold about you, to request its correction or deletion, or to object to its use. We will respond as required by applicable law.

European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland. Subject to applicable law, you have the right to access your personal data; to request rectification or erasure; to restrict or object to processing; to data portability; and to withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

California. Subject to the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended, you have the right to know the categories and specific pieces of personal information collected, the purposes for collection, and the categories of third parties to whom it is disclosed; to request deletion or correction; to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, including sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising; to limit the use of sensitive personal information; and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell personal information for money and we do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16 years of age.

Other United States jurisdictions. Residents of states with comprehensive privacy laws may have comparable rights of access, correction, deletion, portability, and opt-out of targeted advertising, and may appeal a refusal of any such request.

To exercise any right, contact us using the details in Section 15. We may need to verify your identity before responding. You may use an authorized agent where permitted by law.

12. Children’s privacy

The Site is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Where the General Data Protection Regulation applies, we do not knowingly process the personal data of children under 16 without appropriate consent. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

13. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

Some browsers transmit “Do Not Track” signals. There is no common industry standard for interpreting them, and we do not currently respond to such signals. Where required by applicable law, we will honor opt-out preference signals such as Global Privacy Control.

14. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time, including if we begin using analytics or advertising technologies not currently in use. The revised Policy will be posted on this page with an updated effective date, and where required by law we will obtain your consent or provide additional notice. Continued use of the Site following any change constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
